"Antique Toys" Just in time for the holidays, this next exhibit brings in a houseful of antique toys!  There will be wind-up toys, dolls, trains, a rocking horse, toy soldiers, games, comic books, cars & trucks.  Winnie the Pooh's 40-acre woods and much more, all in a creative and fun display.  Exhibit held at the Coronado Museum of History and Art, 1100 Orange Ave.  Call 619-435-7242 for more information.
1st & 3rd Sundays of every month Art-in-the-Park Spreckels Park, between 6th & 7th on Orange Ave., 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The park turns into an outdoor gallery as more than 50 artists display and sell their art.

An American Christmas, a 1907 Feast & Celebration at the Hotel del Coronado.  As you step into the gorgeous Ballroom of the Hotel del Coronado a multi-talented cast of 30 sweep you back to 1907 for a delightful evening of music, dance, stories, songs, and laughter - all woven through a delicious 5-course meal.  Every evening, except December 25, at 6:30 pm December 9th - 30th.  Call (619) 437- 0600 for more info, or visit lambsplayers.org.

Coming 2008

Coronado Playhouse "Side by Side by Sondheim".  This famous musical revue showcases some of Sondheim's best early pieces and displays great music, great theatre, and a great lyricist/composer.  Selections from the well known musicals Gypsy, West Side Story, and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.  Playing at the Coronado Playhouse, 1835 Strand Way.  Call (619) 435-4856 for more info, or visit coronadoplayhouse.com.

November 28, 2007 Hotel del Coronado Holiday Festival At a special event for the whole family, Holiday Festival... A Family Celebration, kids of all ages can visit with St. Nick and his elves at Santa's Village, enjoy holiday booths with games and prizes, and ice skate in the outdoor ice-rink.  The evening includes the Hotel del's annual tree lighting ceremony.  Visit hoteldel.com for more information.
November 21, 2007 through January 1, 2008 Skating by the Sea For the third year, the Hotel del Coronado will offer a unique Southern California experience - outdoor ice-skating overlooking the Pacific Ocean. 

Session times:                                                                                                                                        From November 21 - December 16 there will be two 3-hour sessions offered daily, 2pm - 5pm and 6pm - 9pm.    On weekends and holidays there will be an additional 2-hour matinee session from 11am - 1pm.

From December 17 - January 1 all sessions will be offered daily.

3-hour sessions cost $20 adults, $15 kids ages 10 and under.  2-hour matinee cost $15 for adults, $10 for kids.

December 7, 2007 Holiday Parade The Coronado Chamber of Commerce and Coronado Businesses host the 32nd Annual Holiday Parade & Merchant Open House.  At 4:20pm Santa arrives at the Ferry Landing Marketplace.  From 4:00pm - 8:00pm Snow Mountain, sponsored by the Coronado Community Center, will be open at the Ferry Landing.  At 6:00pm the Holiday Parade will start from 7th & Orange to R.H. Dana Place and back.  At 7:00pm will be the Lighting of the Rotary Park Christmas Tree followed by a Community Concert at 7:15pm at Rotary Park. The evening finishes off with fireworks over the bay at 8:30pm.  For more info call (619) 435-9260.
December 9 & 16 San Diego Bay Parade of Lights This year's theme Yo Ho Ho... A Pirates Christmas!  Kicking off with a fireworks extravaganza at 5:30pm, this free celebration features boats decorated for the holiday season that will sail from the east end of Shelter Island into the downtown waterfront and Coronado areas.  Goes until about 9pm.   Good viewing at the bayside pathway along Coronado.  For more information or to view the parade route visit sdparadeoflights.org.

Farmers Market

Every Tuesday 2:30pm-6pm Farmers Market Every Tuesday of the month, look for fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, jams, etc. from local growers, located at the Ferry Landing Marketplace, First Street on the Bay.

Activities For Kids

Every Tuesday and Friday Children's Story Hour Tuesday and Friday Coronado Library Story Hour, 10:10am for toddlers, 10:45am for children over 3.  Meet in the Ruby Room.  Call 619-522-7390 for more information.
